Built by Players, for Players

SwiftBoard Chess was born from a simple frustration: existing chess platforms were either too slow, too cluttered, or too vague when it came to helping you actually improve. We set out to build something better.

The SwiftBoard Chess team and community

Our Story

It started with a blitz game that lagged at the worst possible moment. A mouse-slip that wasn't a mouse-slip. A post-game screen full of engine numbers that meant nothing to a 1200-rated player trying to figure out what went wrong.

We realized the problem wasn't chess — it was the tools around it. Platforms were designed for grandmasters or treated chess as an afterthought in a suite of board games. Nobody was building specifically for the millions of improvers, club players, and coaches who make up the beating heart of the chess world.

So we built SwiftBoard Chess: a platform engineered from the ground up for speed, fairness, and clarity. Every millisecond of latency is tracked. Every matchmaking pairing is audited for quality. Every post-game analysis is designed to be understood by the player who just finished the game — not a titled player reviewing it later.

We're a small, focused team of engineers and chess enthusiasts, and we're just getting started. Our early access community is growing every day, and their feedback shapes every feature we ship.

Mission & Values

Our mission is to make every chess player's next game their most insightful one. These values guide every decision we make.

Clarity Over Complexity

Chess is complex enough — your tools shouldn't be. We strip away clutter so you can focus on what matters: improving your game.

Fairness First

From anti-cheat to matchmaking, every system we build starts with the same question: is this fair for every player?

Passion for the Game

We're chess players building for chess players. Every feature is born from our own frustrations and aspirations at the board.

Continuous Growth

We believe every player — regardless of rating — deserves tools that help them get meaningfully better, not just busier.
